Lupus spares no part of the body. An autoimmune disease, it creates antibodies that can attack healthy tissues in the skin, organs and bones. The Lupus Foundation of America is dedicated to finding the cause and cure of this debilitating disease, primarily through its research program Bringing Down the Barriers.

Help the Philadelphia Tri-State Chapter raise money for the cause on October 30th by running the 20th Annual Lupus Loop, a 5K through Fairmount Park. You can join a team or run as an individual, but either way you’ll be helping about 40,000 afflicted Philadelphians get help and information about lupus.

$25, October 30, 9 a.m., Please Touch Museum, 4231 Avenue of the Republic.
