To Do: The Second Annual Bar AIDS Benefit

Sip a cocktail, battle AIDS

Hit up local restaurants to help raise HIV/AIDS awareness

Treat yourself a night out on Thursday, August 25th, and help raise HIV/AIDS awareness to boot. Nearly two dozen restaurants and coffeehouses will be participating in the Second Annual Bar AIDS Benefit, donating a portion of that night’s proceeds to four local AIDS-awareness organizations: ActionAIDS, the Mazzoni Center, the AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania, and Philadelphia FIGHT. All of these institutions provide counseling for HIV sufferers and their families throughout the Delaware Valley.

After starting up in Chicago six years ago, the event has expanded to four cities across the country, making its first stop in Philly last year. Help make this year’s benefit a success by grabbing a meal or drink at XIX, Field House, La Colombe, or one of many other participating locations to make life a little easier for thousands of AIDS sufferers and their loved ones.
