Fairmount Avenue Has Shiny New Bike Lanes

I saw what looked like the preliminary outlines of new bike lanes going in on Fairmount Avenue a few days ago, but the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia reports that they’re now officially completed. Woo! The new lanes stretch from Pennsylvania Avenue to Broad Street in Fairmount and run both east and west. As BCGP notes, “No parking was harmed in the making of these bike lanes”—which is good, because parking in Fairmount can be miserable. (I know this from experience.)
