Patriots, Seahawks, football, blah blah blah.

Look, we like football as much as anyone. But this year, owing to various regional animosities and deep-seated issues with certain Pacific Northwestern waterfowl, we’re way more excited about Super Bowl Sunday as a food holiday — an excuse to amass the maximum amount of deep-fried calories possible and then see how many of them we can consume before passing out on the couch.

To wit, we have assembled a short list of places offering fancier-than-usual grub for game day — a little something for everyone, even if you’re the sort who thinks sushi is the perfect half-time break between the tacos and the chicken wings.

Serpico (604 South Street): Peter Serpico and his crew are doing twice-fried Korean chicken wings for Super Bowl Sunday. They’re going for $20 an order (10 wings), and it’s highly suggested that you call ahead to reserve yours. Call the restaurant at 215-925-3001.

The Gaslight (120 Market Street): Jason Cichonski’s team are going all out for the big day, offering party trays of all kinds of upscale stuff. Half-size trays will feed about 10. Full sized will feed 20. And here are your options.

  • Chicken Wings: Old-school hot sauce or Chipotle BBQ served with celery, carrots and house-made buttermilk ranch (half, $55; full, $99)
  • Baked Truffled Mac n’ Cheese (half, $45; full, $75)
  • Crudité including seasonal raw, pickled and marinated veggies (half, $35; full, $65)
  • South Philly-style roast pork sandwiches with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone (half, $85; full, $150)
  • Fresh baked pretzels with honey mustard and truffled cheddar dips (half, $45; full, $75)
  • Meatballs – Polish-style or Nonna’s Old Italian variety (half, $75; full $125)
  • The Gaslight’s signature chicken nuggets (half, $65; full, $110)

Want a little bit of everything? The Gaslight can accommodate, offering mixed trays for 10 or 20 at $230 and $420 respectively. The Spread for 10 offers crudité, truffled mac n’ cheese, wings, roast pork sandwiches and pretzels. The Spread for 20 offers all that, in larger amounts, plus chicken nuggets.

Jose Pistola’s (263 South 15th Street)and Sancho Pistola’s (19 West Girard Avenue): You gotta have tacos, right? And Jose Pistola’s has your back with take-out packages that’ll feed 6-8 for $120. We’re talking 8 freedom tacos (which are awesome), 8 spicy pork tacos, 16 smoked or hot wings, 4 chicken Tinga burritos cut in half, and a salad–because, you know, some people like salad. All orders have to be received by the end of business on Friday, January 30th, and will be ready for pick-up on game day.

Lolita (106 South 13th Street): More tacos! Lolita’s Super Bowl Taco Feast will feed 10, run you $150 and includes Guajillo-Braised Short Ribs (2 lbs.); Orange-Canela Pork Carnitas (2 lbs.); Seared Potato, Mushrooms and Greens with Pasilla Chile (2 lbs.); and sides include: Guacamole Tradicional; Tomato-Chipotle Salsa; Tomatillo-Serrano Salsa; Jicama-Cilantro-Radish Slaw; Lime Crema; Queso Fresco; Limes; Pickled Red Onions; Corn Tortilla Chips; San Roman Fresh Corn Tortillas (approx. 30 tortillas per order).

But that’s not all. Lolita is offering add-ons to customize your spread. They include:

  • Traditional Lime Margarita Mix, $12 per quart (just add tequila).
  • Blood Orange Margarita Mix, $14 per quart (just add tequila).
  • Morita Chile-Cholula Wings, $10 per dozen.
  • Beer-Braised Chicken Taquitos with salsa verde for dipping, $12 per dozen.
  • Kale and Mixed Cheese Enchiladas Verdes with vegetarian black beans, $35 for ½ pan.
  • Lolita’s Chopped Salad with jicama, pepitas, cotija cheese and crispy tortillas, served with serrano vinaigrette and buttermilk herb dressing on the side, $28 and serves eight.
  • Vegetarian Black Beans with poblano peppers, cilantro, tomato, onion and cotija cheese, $8 per quart.
  • Pico de Gallo, $7 per pint.
  • Guacamole Tradicional, $10 per pint.
  • Tortillas Chips, $4 per 16 oz. bag.
  • Mexican Tiramisu, $35 and serves eight.
  • Coconut Tres Leches, $35 and serves eight.

The rules: You gotta reserve your feast by emailing LolitaPhilly@yahoo.com no later than Wednesday, January 28. The email must include your name, phone number and the desired pick-up time at Lolita on Sunday, February 1, anytime between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Got all that? Moving on …

Pizzeria Vetri (1939 Callowhill Street): You can do better than Domino’s, folks. First, because Domino’s sucks and you could do better with a piece of cardboard covered in red paint. Second, because Vetri’s crew is doing half-sheet pizzas with sausage, peppers, mozzarella and red sauce for take-out. They’re good for 12 slices and will run you $45. The good thing? You can just roll in on Sunday and order this deal at the counter. The bad thing? Pizzeria Vetri is closing at 4pm.

Fette Sau (1208 Frankford Avenue): Stephen Starr’s Fishtown barbecue joint could have you filled before the national anthem ends. Fette Sau is offering three packages feeding from six to 20 people.
