Holiday Gift Guide

What to buy for your husband, wife, kids and friends (plus: what to bring to the annual holiday bash!)

For this year’s gift guide, we rounded up the best of the best that Philly has to offer, from the coolest toys (Danish modern wooden car) to the most covetable electronics (the most super-sleek camera ever). We’ve got wardrobe-defining pieces for her (cashmere!), and drool-worthy items for him (cufflinks made out of Phillies baseballs). Because, sure, you can wrap up a gift certificate to the mall, or bring a bottle of wine to your next holiday party, but with these local options, why settle? Keep reading for our top picks for the men, women, children, friends and hostesses in your life, get shopping, and then—and this will be the hard part—force yourself to actually give away the gift.

Thank you for promoting pet adoption. Many people don’t realize that shelter animals are often already housebroken (pets come in all ages and sizes). Older recipients are often great matches with older pets.

Rescues always seem to appreciate you more for saving them. Most pets offer unconditional love. What a great way to spread the spirit of the season.

But please make sure that the recipient wants a pet and can readily take care of it. Thanks again.
