Three years after we first got wind of a new music venue slated for the corner of Frankford and Girard avenues in Fishtown, the Fillmore Philadelphia opens on October 1st with a sold-out Hall & Oates show. The latest from concert behemoth Live Nation features two performance spaces—a chandeliered main concert hall that seats as many as 2,500, and a 450-capacity club—plus relative luxuries like waitress and bottle service.

The other shows on the schedule this month—alt-country singer Brandi Carlile (October 11th), the Eagles’ Joe Walsh (October 12th) and jam band Moe (October 30th to 31st)—don’t exactly live up to the Fillmore’s legendary San Francisco namesake, which hosted the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and the Grateful Dead in its heyday, but we bet its opening still has some of the bigger non-Live Nation venues, like the Electric Factory and the Troc, feeling a little bit nervous.

Check out our first look at the Fillmore—with photos and details about the venue’s amenities—here.
