Hall & Oates First to Headline The Fillmore in Philadelphia

Philly music duo Hall & Oates will be the first band to christen The Fillmore, the new music venue that was converted from the 135-year-old Ajax Metal Company Building in Fishtown.

Hall & Oates will take the stage on October 1st, the first of a lineup of national and international acts performing there through the end of the year. Others slated to perform the Fillmore in 2015 include English singer-songwriter Frank Turner (October 2nd), folk songstress Brandi Carlile (October 11th) and Texas country foursome the Eli Young Band (November 11th).

The Fillmore—situated across from SugarHouse at Frankford Avenue—is in the final stages of a $32 million renovation courtesy of the House of Blues Entertainment division of Live Nation. When finished, it will become a 141,000-square-foot entertainment complex, housing two live-music venues, a comedy club, 24-lane bowling alley, distillery and Italian restaurant. The Fillmore, for one, is a two-level concert hall with the capacity to hold 2,500 people.

On the food and drink front, The Fillmore “will offer small batch liquors, local and national craft beers, a varied wine selection, and a full menu of local favorites like brats and burgers and cheesesteaks as well as charcuteries and cheese plates.”
