It’s a one-of-a-kind show headed to Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field starting in June: The Marvel Experience opens on June 19th, and is going to be unlike anything comic fans have ever seen before.

The experience is being billed as “the world’s first hyper-reality tour” and features the first ever touring 360-degree, 3-D stereoscopic full-dome projection theatre. There will also be “a state-of-the-art, thrilling motion ride and a ‘training center’ that offers the opportunity for Marvel fans to actually become ‘part of the adventure.'”

Press materials describe the experience as follows:

“As agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in training, guests of The Marvel Experience swing with Spider-Man, smash with Hulk, fly with Iron Man and more, all in preparation for an epic battle alongside Marvel’s biggest Super Heroes in a fight against Red Skull, M.O.D.O.K. and an army of evil Adaptoids. The Marvel Experience incorporates next-generation interactive technology including augmented reality and multi-person gaming so you can see yourself in action. Everything happens with bleeding-edge technology and advanced computer animation. There’s nothing else like it. Not only does the audience get to join the adventure, in the end they may even become heroes themselves.”

Philly is one of only four North American cities to get the tour throughout the summer and early fall months. Here’s a video tour from an earlier engagement that gives potential guests a little preview of what to expect:

The Philly program will run through July 5th, and tickets go on sale on May 12th at 10 am. It’s perfect timing for all of those school-aged fans who will be home for the summer. For more information, visit Marvel’s website.
