- Instant Classic @ Gravy Studio. This is that group Polaroid show I keep talking about.
- The Snails/Evil Sword @ Kung Fu Necktie. Solid rock show featuring a Future Islands offshoot.
- Liberty City Radio Theatre @ Society Hill Playhouse After 55 years, Society Hill Playhouse is shutting down after this show, a recreation of old-timey radio storytelling — noir, comedy, etc.
- False Histories: A Fundraiser for Mighty Writers @ Tattooed Mom. Funny people lie to your face for a good cause.
- Laser Life @ Lava Space. Queer sci-fi reading.
- I’d rather choke than be a quitter @ 1fiftyone Gallery. Multimedia art show/performance. Looks cool.
- Joe Boruchow: Rally and Retreat @ LMNL Gallery. Your favorite b&w street artist comes in out of the snow.
- Lily and Madeleine @ World Cafe Live. Once I was riding my big wheel through the Overlook Hotel and I turned a corner and, bam, Lily and Madeleine were just standing there. I was scared at first but then they played a folk song and it was nice.
- CUTN PASTE/Emerald City @ Bike Stop. Open-minded multimedia dance party.
- Regina Carter @ World Cafe Live. Jazz violin.
- Dance Theater of Harlem @ Annenberg Center. Ballet superstars. Though Saturday
- The Philadelphia Evening Post Winter/Spring Issue Release Party @ Keystone Mini Golf and Arcade. The upstart Philly broadsheet throws a party featuring “beer, food, a Philly Evening Post membership / subscription sign-up sheet, story idea board, lots of people quoting Happy Gilmore, and tons of fun.” See you had me, then you lost me.
- Please Come In @ Space 1026. Interesting-looking group art show featuring work byKeenan Bennett, Stephanie Elden, Olivia Jones, Daria McMeans and Yue Nakayama.
- International Pop @ the Art Museum. It’s not all soup cans.
- Southeast by Southeast @ Asian Arts Initiative. Featuring the art of Shira Walinsky.
- Joy Riding/Kiska/Bacio @ Boot & Saddle. Joy Riding features members of several notable bands, including Makeout Party and Up Up Down Down Left Right.
- Harvey @ Walnut Street Theater. Let the big, big rabbit come out. Runs through Sunday.
- Static Mountain/Zuli/Souldiers of Soul/RR Perkins @ Everybody Hits. Rock at the batting cages.
- Dana Gould @ Helium. The vice principal of alt-comedy. Through March 5.
- Spine @ The Drake. Theater critic David Fox had lots of good things to say about this play, which wraps up its run this weekend.
- Don Quixote @ Academy of Music The Pennsylvania Ballet tilts at windmills with an ambitious production. Sarah Jordan recently interviewed artistic director Angel Corella. Runs through March 13.
- Hairy, Hairy Night @ Fringearts. Featuring FF Red 40… Honestly I don’t know what this is. All my nights are hairy.
- Ryan Tennis & The Clubhouse Band @ Milkboy Philly. Acoustic rock band’s CD release party.
- Quilt @ Johnny Brenda’s. Artsy, catchy indie rock with whispery vocals.
- David Fantasy & Adult Content @ Bourbon & Branch. Your SafeSearch click of the week.
- Pop Goes the Easel @ International House. Films by pop artist/filmmaker Derek Boshier, followed by a q&a with the man himself.

- Mary Lattimore @ PhilaMOCA. Record release show for the queen of harps. “Big time” special guest expected.
- Cynthia Connolly/”Banned In DC” @ Cindergarden. Punk history lesson from the author/photographer.
- Northern Arms/Shilpa Ray @ Boot & Saddle. Northern Arms is Philly’s brilliant, artful army. Soulful music done with care.
- All Dogs @ First Unitarian Church. Pretty, frustrated rock. Get there early for Pinkwash.
- White Supremacy Not Welcome Here: Counterprotest to 3% Militia @ Sixth and Arch Paramilitary patriots — aka sober juggalos — are apparently gathering at the federal building at Sixth and Arch. This is the counter protest organized by Philly Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ). Be loud. Be safe.
- Glitter @ Ortlieb’s. An early evening rock show by a seldom seen Philly favorite. Glitter does shoegaze and new wave with love.
- Brazilian Carnaval @ Rittenhouse Soundworks. Featuring Arrastao do Dende, DJ Oluwafemi and more.
- The Philadelphia Flower Show @ PA Convention Center Best-smelling show in town. Runs through March 13.
- Welcome to Wonderland @ World Cafe Live. Tribute to Stevie Wonder.
- Steve Forbert also @ World Cafe Live. The folky folksinger plays folk for folks. Bring your folks.
- Strong & Tender’s Vintage Pop-Up @ 1911 S Sartain St. Featuring the work of Dewey Saunders.
- West Philadelphia Orchestra/Swift Technique @ Johnny Brenda’s. Always a good time.
- Excision @ Electric Factory. Canadian bass-dropper leads 18+ dancefloor bloodbath.
- She Comes From The Sea @ The Iron Works. Modern dance “centered on bodyscape in connection to landscape.”

- Sunflower Bean/Honduras/Cold Fronts @ Kung Fu Necktie. All ages rock show.
- Shelf Life/Joy Again/Grubby Little Hands @ Goldilocks Gallery. A good solid rock show. Shelf Life does a spunky, country folk thing.
- David Johnson & his Band @ Chris’ Jazz Cafe. Live vibraphones.
- The Dean’s List! @ Philly Improv Theater. Free comedy featuring Matt&.
- Somos/Petal/The Superweaks @ PhilaMOCA. High energy rock show. Boston band Somos does jangly alt-rock that sounds like WDRE circa 1995.
- Come To Grief/Wake/Moros @ Millcreek Tavern. They still do shows at the Millcreek.
- Lizanne Knott @ World Cafe Live. A CD release brunch. Well that sounds lovely.
