The cast of Equity arrived in Philly last week to begin filming a movie about women on Wall Street.  Equity is the brainchild of Sarah Megan Thomas and Haverford native and Orange Is the New Black prison maven Alysia Reiner, and is the first film produced through their production company Broad Street Pictures.

Coined as “the first female-driven Wall Street film,” Equity follows a senior investment banker who is threatened by a financial scandal and must untangle a web of corruption. Breaking Bad‘s Anna Gunn, Samuel Roukin and Roe Hartrampf also star. Actor David Alan Basche is married to Reiner and stars in TV Land’s The Exes. The cast is pictured above at Talula’s Garden. They were there last night for a late-night dinner after filming at the German Society Club all day.

After photographing the cast of Equity, I headed over to Philadelphia Film Society’s Prince Theater, which hosted a screening of the season finale of M. Night Shyamalan’s hit Fox miniseries Wayward Pines. The 10-episode series follows a Secret Service agent, played by Matt Dillon, as he sets out to find two federal agents who went missing in the mysterious small town of Wayward Pines, Idaho.

After the finale, Shyamalan participated in a Q&A with Fox 29’s Quincy Harris, and took questions from the audience. The director said he was surprised at how well the series was received, especially with the online community. He wouldn’t answer about the continuation of the series, but says he is busy working on a new movie at the moment.
