Undie Rock Band The Skivvies to Make Philly Debut

It won’t be your typical night at the Kimmel Center: When cheekily named “undie rock” group The Skivvies take the stage, they’re naked (well, minus their skivvies) before they finish singing their first number.

But they aren’t the only ones to strip down during their shows. They’ve had Laura Benanti, Lena Hall, Matt Doyle, Andy Karl, Perez Hilton, Orfeh, and Alice Ripley perform in their underpants. Now, the notorious rock group are on the way to Philly for a Valentine’s Day weekend extravaganza at the Kimmel Center’s SEI Innovation Studio, February 12th through 14th.

Lauren Molina and Nick Cearly, the underwear-clad musicians who make up the group, are established musical theater performers in their own right, but as The Skivvies, they’ve played everywhere from Studio 54 and Joe’s Pub in New York to The Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope. Usually, the duo find local talent to join them on stage to strip off, so we’re kind of excited to see who they might recruit from Philly.

Look below for a video of what you’d might expect at one of their concerts. Tickets and more information can be found here. Make sure you have your best undies on in case you get dragged on stage.
