Halloweekend in Manayunk

Then, look forward to an all-day halloween celebration on Saturday, with a flea and farmers market, costume parades for kids and pups, live music, pumpkin carving contests, a zombie thriller dance off, and a bonfire along the canal come sundown. Sylvan Esso
If you're searching for a live music fix tonight, catch Sylvan Esso, a duo from Durham, North Carolina that mixes folk sounds with electro-pop. Poi Dog at The Garage
From Foobooz: Tonight, Garage Philly will be doing some of that most elusive of cuisines: Filipino food. And it’ll be the crew from Poi Dog working the indoor food truck and serving all that fine Fillipino grub. Poi Dog will be whipping up a full menu, complete with bibingka and curry rice made with fancy Green Aisle ingredients. 215 Festival
The tail-end of this four-day festival lights up the city's literary scene this weekend. The annual 215 Festival includes events all over the city, like a Writers' Night at Tattooed Mom, a "Type-In" at Headhouse Square, and a Sunday afternoon APIARY magazine staff reading. Fall Fest & Spooky Saturday
Incase you missed it in our halloween happenings roundup, this weekend is East Passyunk's Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday. Guests can look forward to dozens of craft vendors, live music, drinks and popular street eats. Dress up your little ones (and furry friends!) for the costume contest, while they enjoy pumpkin painting, arts and crafts, and trick-or-treating down the avenue. Pumpkin Fall Festival
The fall-themed fun continues at Headhouse Square Shambles this Saturday. Look forward to shopping with the PHAIR Fall Bazaar, food vendors, circus performers, pumpkin decorating, live music, hayrides, storytelling, face painting, and more. Plus, adult beverages for the over 21 crowd. Saturday, October 25th, 12 p.m.-5 p.m., Headhouse Square Shambles, 2nd Street between Pine & Lombard.


Octoberfest at Dilworth Park
November is right around the corner, so you best get your Octoberfest fill while you still can. Head to Dilworth Park this Saturday for some all-day fall fun, featuring a beer garden, a variety of vendors, art installations, over-sized board games, and live music from Illstyle, DJ Statik & Mathew Law of The Illvibe Collective, and Son Little. If you're bringing the little ones, there will be face painting, pumpkin painting, and button making. Saturday, October 25th, 12 p.m.-6 p.m., Dilworth Park, Broad & Market Streets.


PumpkinFest
Watch expert carvers put classic jack-o-lanterns to shame this weekend at PumpkinFest 2014, a world-class pumpkin carving competition and day-long fall fest. Check out the impressive artistry displayed in the pumpkin gallery and nosh at the food truck pavilion while the littles enjoy pony rides, a Radio Disney show, an outdoor movie, and more. Bark In the Park 5K
From Be Well Philly: The Bark in the Park Walk happens annually, but this is the first year the event has thrown a 5K in the mix, and it looks like it’s going to be a blast. The all-day festivities will kick-off Saturday at 9:15 a.m. with a yoga class taught by Kate Halligan of Awaken Massage and Yoga. Then human runners and dog runners alike will take to the streets for the 5K portion of the day, which will be followed by a post-race fall festival: think food trucks, a DJ, dog contests galore, and more. Philadelphia Open Studio Tours
Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Philly's most creative spaces this weekend. Philadelphia Open Studip Tours (POST) allows art aficionados to explore the studios of local talented artists that specialize in a wide array of mediums. 2014 Thomas Eakins Head of the Schuylkill Regatta
Hundreds of athletes are heading to Philly this weekend for this two-day event. The 2.5 mile race includes 75 college crews, twice as many high school crews, and elite rowers from around the world. Food, drink, and souvenirs will be stationed by the "Playing Angels" statue. The best part? You can enjoy the races for free from wherever you have a good view. From Be Well Philly: Sunday, October 26th, Philly Dance Fitness is hosting a Pop Divas Dance Workshop, where you will experience, and I quote, “90 minutes of nonstop hip-shaking, body-rolling, chest-popping cardio dance routines” to the tunes of everyone’s favorite pop divas like Beyoncé, Lada Gaga, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and more. Tell Me A Story: "Guts" Edition
Join hilarious host Hillary Rea and other comedians while they embrace the Halloween spirit in all its gory glory. Tell Me A Story promises an afternoon of humorous (and perhaps slightly bloody) anecdotes and true, comedic tales, all based around the theme "guts." Laughter guaranteed.
