PHLASH Bus Offering Free Rides to Philly High School Students

STAMP, a program that provides high school students free admission to city parks and museums, has teamed with PHLASH, Visit Philly’s bus service that carts folks from one Philly attraction to the next, to offer gratis rides to students aged 14-19. STAMP — partially funded by a Knight Art Challenge grant — has enrolled over 8,500 teens in the program so far, with the hopes of exposing younger generations to some of the city’s prime cultural offerings. This pairing, says Cultural Alliance Interim Executive Director Michael Norris, “will help make sure traveling to and from STAMP museums is as easy as possible.”

The STAMP pass guarantees free admission to 12 local museums. All the goodies are there: the African American Museum in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA), the Barnes Foundation, and Eastern State Penitentiary. It can also be used to travel to the STAMP Teen Dance Party, which is happening this Friday, May 23rd, at 5:45 p.m at PMA.

Interested in obtaining one? You’d be foolish not to. Go go The free rides with PHLASH are good through December.
