There’s something eery going on in the world of bridesmaid fashion, and we don’t like it. First, Alfred Angelo shut down all of its stores—including its Cherry Hill location—without warning. Then, after acquiring the brand in 2016, Gap Inc. announced it would be closing the Weddington Way boutiques it had set up in Banana Republic stores just last month (you’ve got through June 11th to place an order at the 1401 Walnut Street location).  The most recent bridesmaid brand to fall on the chopping block? Vow To Be Chic, the first company to offer rental options for bridesmaids dresses. CEO Kelsey Doorey confirmed the news to The Knot on Wednesday, citing a lack of adequate funding as the main reason for shuttering operations.

Brides and bridesmaids alike have reported trouble getting in touch with the company for weeks ahead of the shutdown, which has us worried that there may be a some Philly-area brides experiencing the same panic. Luckily, as they did in the wake of the Alfred Angelo closing, local stores and national retailers alike are stepping up to help bridal parties in a bind.
