If you and your beau are history buffs, or if you’ve always envisioned your wedding taking place in a grand space, you might want to check out the wedding-centric open house happening at the new-ish Museum of the American Revolution on Wednesday, February 28th. The museum has been open for less than a year and has been home to a mere seven or so weddings, making it fresh territory for the classic Philly wedding of your dreams, complete with jaw-dropping photo opportunities and view overlooking all of Old City.

To check out the open house at this fresh space, you’ll want to pop by the museum, located at 101 South 3rd Street in Old City, with everyone whose opinion matters — your mom, your significant other, your ‘maids — at 6 p.m. The main draw for hosting your Big Day at this museum — aside from it being a spot that your wedding guests probably haven’t attended a wedding at before — is the versatility of the space. Depending on your wedding party size, you have a myriad of options for the location of your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The terrace, for example, is great for more intimate ceremonies, while the grand staircase creates a powerful “wow” moment for a bride’s entrance, or even makes a beautiful space for cocktail hour.

As for the historical aspect of the venue, there are often artifacts in the main area of the museum for all of your guests to goggle at. (Currently on display is an utterly appropriate diamond eagle pin worn by George Washington, though the displays switch up throughout the year.) For an additional cost, the museum will also open up their second floor exhibits for your guests during cocktail hour.

So what can you expect from this fun night out? In addition to touring the museum during the open house and sipping on drinks and light bites by Brûlée Catering, you will also be able to meet with a ton of Philadelphia-area wedding vendors. That list follows below:
