This JG Domestic Wedding is the Perfect Blend of Modern and Classic

Proof that paired-down decor is sometimes the most stylish.

Here at PW, we always appreciate it when a couple lets the beauty of their wedding venue shine through by opting for purposefully paired-down decor. Caitlin Brown and Evan Linhardt’s Cira Centre Atrium at JG Domestic wedding is a perfect example, as show in the photos below by Hope Helmuth Wedding Photography

Evan and Caitlin met during a welcome event for Teach for America training right here in Philly. Evan was a welcomer; Caitlin was a newbie teacher. Caitlin mistook Evan’s initial request for a (group) date as a polite — but unnecessary — formality, so she blew it off. Their paths didn’t really cross again until Caitlin noticed that Evan, whom she considered just another Facebook friend at that point, posted an Autumn-related update, so she sent him an invite to her upcoming Autumn-themed party on a whim. Evan accepted, and made his intentions a little more clear this time around. He asked her out, she accepted, and their first date was at Lee How Fook the very next night.

Fast forward to a Friday in June of last year. The happy couple had closed on a property in Port Richmond, and while Caitlin, an operations and communications manager, rushed back to work, Evan, a chief information technology officer, “took the day off to work on the new house.” He hung dozens of photos from the living room ceiling alongside bride and groom balloons. When Caitlin returned to pop a celebratory bottle of champagne before heading out to a girls’ night, Evan was waiting for her on one knee. Girls’ night was canceled, and the newly engaged couple enjoyed a surprise multi-course meal delivered throughout the evening from Caitlin’s favorite Philly restaurants via Caviar.

Eleven months later, Caitlin and Even exchanged personally written vows in the Cira Centre atrium. During dinner at JG Domestic, lush greenery accented with garden roses in shades of ivory and blush dominated the floral design, and the couple also displayed the wedding photos of their parents and grandparents. Caitlin’s sister (and maid of honor) handled the calligraphy, and guests enjoyed a desert bar filled with mini cannoli, red velvet cupcakes, chocolate bouchons, and mini s’more milkshakes. After swaying to “Cheek to Cheek” by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald for their first dance, the couple honeymooned in Sicily. They currently live in Fishtown.
