This is What it’s Like to Spend a Year as a Professional Bridesmaid

It was towards the end of last year that we first started hearing about the idea of a professional bridesmaid. The concept, coined by a 26-year-old New York woman who posted an ad to Craigslist offering her services as a bridesmaid, took off, to our surprise: She received a ton of inquiries from brides all over the country who were actually quite eager to take her up on the offer to do their bidding for a nominal fee. (She’s a professional bridesmaid, after all.)

One year and 30-plus weddings later, Jen Glantz is talking about what it’s really like to be a bridesmaid for hire and the lessons she’s learned along the way, and it’s actually really sweet.

Aside from all of the pre-wedding venting, first looks and tulle-filled bathroom breaks, Glantz gained some meaningful friendships and remains close with many of the brides she has met throughout the process.

Read her entire story here, and if you’re in need of an extra ‘maid for your Big Day, you can learn more about her services here.
