The New Rittenhouse Location of “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro’s Carlo’s Bakery is Now Open & Ready to Make Your Wedding Cake

If the news cameras and lines out the door (our editor captured the above shot the other day) are any indication, “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro’s new bakery location here in Philly will be a hot spot for dessert lovers citywide. And while the cannoli, cookies and cupcakes have us pretty excited, what we’re really interested in are their custom cakes.

If you’re at all familiar with Carlo’s Bakery‘s TLC show, you know that Valastro and his team are known for their elaborate, fondant-covered cakes, which makes them a popular choice for wedding creations of all shapes, sizes and styles. So if you’ve ever gawked at your TV and dreamed of having them whip up a multi-tiered confection for your Big Day, now’s your chance.

Here’s how it works: You’ll start by booking an appointment with one of the bakery’s cake consultants, who will talk through your ideas and the available options before putting your vision down on paper (they suggest bringing along your invitations, color swatches, photo inspiration or any other items that might influence the design of your cake, and checking out their online gallery of wedding cakes they’ve done in the past).

You’ll also have a chance to taste a variety of cake samples—the cake, filing and icing pairings have been carefully chosen by Valastro—so you’ll want to go in with an empty stomach.
