Philly makeup artist Béke Beau (say it just like ‘Becky’) has been beautifying her clients for over 20 years—the last eight of them, happily, right here in our area.

She’s got a lovely by-appointment studio in Bryn Mawr where she offers makeup lessons (which include telling you which products and trends just aren’t worth your time) and where brides can go for makeup trials—though of course, she also spends many a weekend morning in the hotel suites, parents’ houses and venues of her brides as they primp and pamper for their weddings.

We checked in with Béke and her fab new platinum ‘do to see what she’s into right now—and to steal a few of her insider faves.

Favorite universally flattering shade of lip color for a bride Jane Iredale Lip Fixation in Fascination … It’s the perfect berry pink.

Favorite item to keep in a beauty emergency kit A Madame Paulette Professional Stain Removal Kit. It makes me seem like a total rock star if someone spills something.

Favorite beauty product that you absolutely cannot live without Coconut Oil. Skin, hair—it does everything.

Favorite place to turn for beauty inspiration Honestly, it’s my clients, and the things they tell me about themselves. But for my non-cheeseball answer, I’ll also say films made in the 30s.

Favorite part about hanging out with a bride on the morning of her wedding Being around that special female camaraderie between her and her friends and relatives who are all having a blast.
