Bride-to-be Blogger Carly: Reflecting On the Past Year With Thanks

Carly and Sean at their engagement party.

Today I write my 43rd and final pre-wedding blog. I feel very emotional as I write this, because today marks the end of the wedding-planning experience and is the eve of the beginning of a new chapter in my life.

The last year has been incredible and I have a lot of thank-yous to say for that. I’m grateful to Philadelphia Wedding for helping me document this experience. Not only will I have my memories, but a weekly log of my feelings and experiences, which I can look back on and hopefully share with my future children. I am also so incredibly grateful for my family and Sean’s. The love and support we’ve gotten from them has been amazing and the help they’ve given us, especially over the last few weeks of wedding prep, has been more than I could have asked for. I also want to thank my friends for being so sweet and wonderful. From listening to me talk endlessly about my wedding to helping me prepare for the Big Day and throwing me some awesome celebrations along the way, I couldn’t have gotten to this day (feeling as ready as I do) without you.

Right now, I’m sitting in my apartment crossing off the final tasks on my to-do list, feeling so full of happiness. Tomorrow I get to marry my best friend and, as cliché as that might sound, I truly mean it. I met Sean when I least expected to find love, and he swept me off my feet. The last three years with him have been the happiest of my life, which makes me so utterly excited for the many, many, many more to come. My stomach has been fluttering with joyful butterflies since I woke up this morning, and happy tears spring to my eyes every time I think about the coming events of this weekend. I cannot wait to say “I do, ” to become a wife, to extend my family, to share a name with the man I love.

Before I sign off on this blog  (for a few weeks—I’ll be back with a wedding and honeymoon recap!), I have one more thank you to say—and that’s to you. Thank you for sharing this experience with me, thanks for reading, for your advice, for your “likes” and comments, for coming with me on this journey. It has been so cool to put my thoughts and feelings to “paper,” and to be so kindly received by you all has been a blessing.

I am one lucky girl.

Talk to you on the flip side!

Miss Carly Anne Day (soon to be Meluney)
