Bride-to-be Blogger Leslie: Showered With Love

Leslie with her 'maids, her mom, and her soon-to-be mom-in-law at her bridal shower this past weekend.

This past weekend I experienced a big moment in my bridal bliss — my wedding shower! To me, having a bridal shower is a rite of passage in terms of wedding planning. It is a great way to relax and unwind with friends and family after months (and months and months) of wedding planning craziness. It also represents the fact that the Big Day is right around the corner!

I am very, very lucky because I get to enjoy not just one, but two bridal showers — one in Virginia with friends and family down South and another in Pennsylvania with loved ones from this area.  I am so thankful to have such wonderful people in my life who care so much about that they’ll throw me two showers so people from different areas of my life can attend.

My first shower was thrown for me this past weekend by family friends who I have known my entire life, as well as my bridesmaids. I loved walking in the door and not knowing what to expect — that aspect of surprise was awesome! I didn’t have to worry about anything at all, and was just able to hang out, enjoy everything and spend some time with friends.

Aside from enjoying all the amazing food, drink and decor, we spent the afternoon playing games and opening presents with a few surprises along the way. It was an unbelievable day from start to finish and it made me more excited for the wedding!

If you would like to check out a photo recap from my Bridal Shower in Virginia or the Bridal Shower Panty Poem, which my bridesmaids read to me at the shower, please check out my personal blog and enjoy the pictures!
