A 35-year-old father faces several charges after his 9-month-old baby was found punctured by a hypodermic needle Wednesday evening in Manayunk.

Philadelphia police were called to a home on the 200 block of Green Lane around 6:30 p.m., where they found the unresponsive baby with a needle sticking out of one leg.

The infant was rushed to Chestnut Hill Hospital and revived with a dose of Narcan, according to CBS3. The father, who has not been named, has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person.

Chief Inspector Scott Small told FOX 29 last night that the father claimed he was in bed with the baby when the infant rolled over onto the needle and was punctured.

The baby is reportedly in stable condition. Investigators are looking into what was in the needle.
