Police have identified the woman killed at Roosevelt Boulevard on Monday night as 17-year-old Markalyah Jackson, of North Boudinot Street.

Police are still searching for the driver of a silver or white minivan who struck Jackson before fleeing the scene.

The impact caused the victim to be thrown 180 ft, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say there will be extensive damage to the front end and windshield of the minivan.

“When she was hit the impact caused her to come out of her footwear,” said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told CBS3. “Both of her slippers are still on the highway. Her cell phone, which was in her hand, is broken. The earrings she was wearing were actually torn from her ears.”

Anyone with information on the crash can contact the police Accident Investigation Division at 215-685-3180.
