Villanova Canceled Classes Today

That Kris Jenkins buzzer beater keeps paying off for ’Nova students. Since the Wildcats won the men's basketball national championship last night, classes are off today.

Villanova students got a text this morning announcing what many had suspected would happen: The school canceled all classes today so kids can sleep off their hangovers. (Or, you know, continue to celebrate.)

The school bookstore is open until 6 p.m. for those wanting to buy championship gear.

Of course, some people are angry about it. Such as Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, who would literally be asking for a refund if his kid went to Villanova. How would that be calculated? Just pro-rated class days, or do things like reading days count? Or should Florio’s hypothetical child only get refunded for the classes missed on this day?

Let’s say this kid had three classes. It’s $2,701 a credit at Villanova. At most he’d get a hundred bucks back. Maybe a few hundred, at most. That’s definitely not worth all the legal work it would cost him. I guess, since Florio is a lawyer, he could do it himself, but I’d like to think he has more productive uses of his time. Then again, maybe not.

Anyway: Enjoy sleeping off your hangovers, Villanova students.
