A bomb threat received by the Pottstown Police Department at 11:42 a.m. has led to the evacuation of Montgomery County Community College’s West Campus in Pottstown.

MCCC spokesperson Alana Mauger said police immediately relayed the threat of a bomb in South Hall on the campus to the college’s administration, which made the decision to evacuate the entire West Campus and cancel all classes scheduled to start up through 3 p.m.

Pottstown police were on the campus with bomb-sniffing dogs.

A decision on evening classes will be made later based on the status of the police investigation.
