McNabb Arrested for DUI in Arizona
Former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb was arrested last week and charged with DUI after a minor traffic accident in Arizona, where he resides.
The police department of Gilbert, Arizona, put out the following statement:
“On 06/28/2015 at approximately 2335 hours, officers responded to a non-injury collision involving two vehicles which occurred just west of the intersection at E Chandler Heights Rd and S Higley Rd in Gilbert, AZ. Subsequent investigation revealed Donovan McNabb (11/25/76) was impaired by alcohol and collided in a rear-end fashion with another vehicle which was stopped at a red traffic signal. Donovan was arrested for DUI at 2358 hours and transported to the Gilbert/Chandler Unified Holding Facility for processing, after which, he was cited and released.”
This isn’t McNabb’s first brush with the law. The mug shot above actually comes from Spring 2014, when he spent a day behind bars as punishment for a December 2013 DUI. In that case, police clocked him driving 81 mph in a 65 mph zone.
In the newest case, Deadspin notes, “the Gilbert PD did not specify whether McNabb took a field sobriety test or what his BAC was.”
McNabb played for the Eagles from 1999 to 2009, leading the team to five NFC championship games, winning just once. His number was retired by the Eagles in 2013.
