PHL17 Has Started An All-Mummers Channel

Starting soon, Channel 17.4 will be airing old Mummers parades non-stop until January 1st. The station is also airing three specials on the Mummers.

PHL17 announced today it has created a sub-channel that will be showing non-stop Mummers parades until January 1st. The station will be airing parades back to 1995.

The channel is 17.4, formerly GeoTraffic, one of the subchannels that became available after the digital television transition. Channel 17.4 can also be found on Comcast channel 253 and Verizon FiOS channel 468.

“This is a great opportunity to show some classic Mummers Parades from PHL17’s past as we count down to the 2015 SugarHouse Casino Mummers Parade,” PHL17 GM Vince Giannini said in a statement, making sure to get the casino that sponsors the parade into the canned quote.

PHL17 will also air three specials on the Mummers at 11 p.m. on December 14th, 21st and 28th. The Mummers marathon on 17.4 starts Thursday at 6 a.m.
