Thor’s Brother to Be Bisexual in New Comic Book Spinoff

Loki, as portrayed by actor Tom Hiddleston in Thor.

Not long ago, DC Comics introduced a new transgender character, Alysia, in Batgirl, and now Marvel is following suit, adding an LGBT character to its upcoming Thor spin-off. Gay Star News reports that, in Loki: Agent of Asgard, the title character will be a gender-bending bisexual. For those of you in the dark, Loki is Thor’s brother, the sinister super villain who has the ability to change his shape and sex.

Long expected that Loki would be written as bi, the writer, Al Ewing, confirmed it on his blog when answering a fan query, saying, “Yes, Loki is bi and I’ll be touching on that. … He’ll shift between genders occasionally as well.”

The comic book series is expected to be released in 2014, not long after the much-anticipated Thor sequel, where Loki is played by actor Tom Hiddleston. Fingers crossed on the chance that the character will be portrayed as bi on screen.
