YUM: Marcie Turney Debuts Budino Frozen Pops

The twist on her No. 1-selling Barbuzzo dessert will be sold three days a week till the end of August.

This week, chef Marcie Turney will roll out a little something different from her kitchen … or should I say freezer. She has taken her popular budino dessert — hands down, the No. 1-selling item on her menu at Barbuzzo — and is turning it into an ice cream pop that she’ll sell three days a week from the Marcie Blaine Chocolate counter in Verde.

The base of the Budino Frozen Pops is caramel pudding that’s frozen around a core of salted caramel and dark chocolate cookie crumbs. That’s then dipped in a dark chocolate coating and sprinkled with Maldon sea salt. In short, it’s an orgasm on a stick.

The first pops are rolling out this Fri., Aug. 16 at noon, and they will only be available until the end of August, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 2 p.m., for $5 a pop (ha!).
