South Philly Coffee Shop Ranked #1 in the Country

Ultimo Coffee, in Point Preeze/Newbold, has been named the country’s best coffee shop by The Daily Meal, a website that is exactly what you think it is. Despite the coffee shop’s precious hipness (my words, not theirs), “what you won’t find at Ultimo is an attitude.” Not coincidentally, Ultimo won Philly Mag’s 2012 “Best of Philly” coffee shop too. And the reason this magazine was most excited about the place (they’ve got beer) was not lost on TDM: “Bonus points for the craft beer store the Newbold location shares its space with—caffeine to start the day, beer to end it.” So either they copied us, or this place really is the best.
