Friday Night Lights Creator Tells Mitt Romney to Stop Using “Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Can’t Lose.”

Friday Night Lights creator (the TV version), Peter Berg is not thrilled with Mitt Romney over the GOP presidential candidate’s use of the show’s infamous “Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can’t lose.” quotation. In the show, Coach Taylor, Tim Riggins, and all of your other favorites would drop the team’s motto whenever they needed a little inspiration. On the 2012 campaign trail, Mitt Romney has been using the line and the creator is pissed. He fired off an angry email demanding that Romney stop using the quote. He says the use improperly relates FNL with the Romney/Ryan ticket, even though the two have little in common.

The only relevant comparison that I see between your campaign and Friday Night Lights is in the character of Buddy Garrity — who turned his back on American car manufacturers selling imported cars from Japan. [Hollywood Reporter]
