Olympians from Pennsylvania and Jersey Bring Home 28 Medals (16 Gold)


Sunday night, the Spice Girls and Russell Brand officially brought the 2012 London Games to a close. After 17 days of competition, the United States left England as the most decorated country. American athletes earned more medals than any other nation (104) and more gold medals than any other nation (46). Of the American athletes that earned medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 23 hail from Jersey or Pennsylvania. Together, they brought home hardware in 21 different events.
