You Won’t Believe How Much Barbra Streisand Tickets Cost On StubHub

In case you’ve been in seclusion, mourning the passing of Marvin Hamlisch, I should probably tell you that Barbra Streisand will be at the Wells Fargo Center on Monday, October 8th, the first date of a (so far) small North American tour. Some have posited that the Philly gig is “just a rehearsal” for her two shows later that week at New York’s brand new Barclays Center, although judging from the excitement of the women in my family, this is the Show of the Century. (Take that, Jay-Z).

REVIEW: Barbra Streisand at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia

A quick look over at StubHub reveals that asking prices for Barbra’s show here are topping out at over $9,000 with the cheapest seats going for $345, which is a little strange since the show hasn’t even gone on sale yet. The official on sale (where tickets top out at $500) starts on Monday, August 13th at 10 a.m., with one pre-sale for Barbra fan club members set to begin today at 10 a.m. and another pre-sale starting tomorrow at 10 a.m. So how in the hell do sellers on StubHub have their tickets already? They don’t, says a representative Comcast-Spectacor, the company that runs the show at Wells Fargo Center. According to the rep, sellers list those tickets with the hope that they will eventually score tickets to sell. “But they’re not going to be the same seats,” he says. “It’s like a bait-and-switch.” You’ve been warned.

UPDATE: Here’s what the show looked like from just $200 seats
