Pat Burrell to Hang ‘Em Up

Longtime Phillie Pat Burrell is likely to retire as a nagging foot injury that kept him out much of last season hasn’t healed. Pat the Bat had some big hits and frustrating slumps during his nine-year stint in red pinstripes. It’s sad to see the first player to come through Philadelphia in a victory parade since 1983 call it a career, but we’ll always have 2008.
