Gaga’s Emotional Tribute

"Bullying is for losers," the pop star says

After hearing about Jamey Rodemeyer, the young man who committed suicide last week after being bullied for years in his school, Lady Gaga dedicated a song called “Hair” to him, with the message that “bullying is for losers.”

Gaga learned that Rodemeyer was a big fan of hers. In a video post earlier this year, the 14-year-old said, “Lady Gaga, she makes me so happy, and she lets me know that I was born this way.” Rodemeyer also posted his own “It Gets Better” video which can be viewed here.

And as his parents buried their son this weekend in a “Born This Way” T-shirt, the pop star took a moment during a concert in Las Vegas to show his picture to audiences, saying, “We lost a Little Monster this week.” She also said that the young man is a lesson to everyone about the very real, very tragic dangers of bullying and homophobia. “The right things are more important than the music,” she added, before dedicating the song to the young man.
