Delaware River Water Quality Report

Today's test: Would you rather drink gallons of wastewater or barrels of wastewater?

Today at EPA forums about the Delaware River, scientists said there are concerns about water quality due to global warning and natural gas drilling. Maybe you think global warming is a myth. OK. Maybe “myth” also applies to the natural gas industry’s claims that it “is making great strides in reducing how much polluted wastewater it discharges to Pennsylvania rivers.” [WSJ] According to the Inquirer one natural gas driller mistakenly gave the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection the wrong numbers on the amount of wastewater it recycled. The Scoop gets easily confused by math and so very much appreciated the Inky’s handy chart to illustrate the screw-up. Bless you, John Tierno, wherever you are.
