Good Life: Journal: Sighted: Capes

Looks we’ve seen and liked (or not so much)

A few months ago, a buyer for a fancy local women’s department told me Philadelphians don’t wear capes. I’m not sure where she got her stats: From last autumn on, abbreviated cloaks (which, BTW, have been around since fashion itself) have appeared in increasing numbers around female shoulders from Devon to South Broad — which is where we found ever-on-point brand consultant Meredith Lindemon wearing a ’70s version. Where to score yours? I suggest vintage — try Decades or Wilbur on Fabric Row — since the new ones have already flown off racks, not to return until next A/W.
