AIDS Walk Philly, October 18, 2009
Over 30,000 people in the Delaware Valley are living with HIV/AIDS. AIDS Walk Philly is the Delaware Valley’s largest annual HIV/AIDS public awareness and fundraising event.  Each year, thousands of people join with celebrities, community leaders, friends, and neighbors in a 8.4-mile walk-a-thon and 5K run to raise money and awareness for the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Where: Eakins Oval, Philadelphia
Time: 5K run starts 8:00 a.m., Walk starts 9:00 a.m.
Cost: $45 for run, donations for walk

The Ghana Project 5K Run/Walk, October 18, 2009
The Ghana Project is a multi-part program at the Drifting Angels Orphanage in Ghana, Africa. The project needs to raise $30,000 for its next phase: constructing a new orphanage on land owned by the founder. You can help by participating in the 5K Run/Walk on October 18th. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers as well as the top fundraiser. You have until Monday, October 12, at 11:59 p.m. to register.

Bobtoberfest, October 24, 2009
The Bryn Mawr Running Company is putting on the third-annual Bobtoberfest. In addition to the 4-mile run, there will be other fall favorites, including pumpkins and beer. The race will start and finish will be on Forbidden Drive near the Valley Green Inn.  Participants can stick around for the post-race party at The Ugly Moose in Manyunk.

Citizen Advocacy Phoenixville Fun Run, October 24, 2009
Join Citizen Advocacy of Chester County, a private, non-profit organization which initiates relationships between citizens with developmental disabilities and their neighbors, for a one-mile Family Fun Run, and 5K and 10K runs. Proceeds will benefit Citizen Advocacy.

Where: Reeves Park, 2nd & Main Street, Phoenixville
Time: Fun Run at 8 a.m.; 5K and 10K at 8:30 a.m.
Cost: $20 pre-registration $25 on day of race, Fun Run $25 per family

Sweat for Hope 5K Run/Walk

Run or walk a 5K through Ridley Creek State Park  to raise money for Profugo, a non-profit organization that exists to break oppressive cycles and facilitate progressive improvement in the lives of individuals in developing and under-developed communities worldwide.
