Rittenhouse Is ThisClose to Having Its Own Green Eggs Cafe

More oversized red velvet pancakes, chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict and cookie dough–stuffed French toast for the masses.

Green Eggs Cafe is on a mission to bring breakfast to every neighborhood in the city, or so it seems. The breakfast and lunch spot, which is famous for over-the-top breakfasts, is opening its sixth location in the Rittenhouse neighborhood with a grand opening party on Friday, January 22nd.

The newest location, at 33 South 18th Street, will seat about 130 people, with additional seating for 40 people on an outdoor patio. It will be BYOB to start, but owner Stephen Slaughter says there’s a liquor license in the works. They will be open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. to start, with the hours extended once the liquor license comes through. The menu will be exactly the same as other locations, featuring cookie dough–stuffed French toast, Creole shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles eggs Benedict, and of course, gigantic red velvet pancakes.
