Starting this Saturday, November 9th, ReAnimator Coffee’s naturally-leavened pizza and sourdough concept will pop-up weekly in front of its future home in Kensington.

Named Eeva, the concept will eventually be an all-day cafe and pizza restaurant with a menu of sourdough breads, pastries, wood-fired pizzas, plus natural wine inside the ReAnimator roasters at 310 West Master Street in Kensington. For now, Greg Dunn, the future chef of Eeva, will be baking and selling loaves and pastries “most Saturdays” in front of the cafe. This week, he’ll have a standard country sourdough loaf, a toasted sesame loaf, and a spelt miche loaf for for sale, all made with locally milled Pennsylvania grains.

Dunn met the ReAnimator team through mutual friends who were involved with Hello Donuts, where ReAnimator does the coffee. He has a background in both pizza and baking from his time at Milkflower, a New York Neapolitan pizzeria, and at The Kettle Black in Northern Liberties, which serves naturally leavened breads, bagels and pastries.

“We’re hoping to really showcase the bakery menu and give people a sense of what Eeva will be when it opens,” says Dunn. They’ll be selling sourdough loaves, pastries, and a selection of cookies, with hopes to eventually add some sandwiches and maybe even bagels. Keep an eye on ReAnimator’s and Eeva’s Instagram pages for announcements of pop-up dates and time.

Eeva is expected to open late this year or in early 2020. Scroll down for a first look at their offerings.
