Last night, Fond owner Lee Styer celebrated 10 years in business for the French-influenced East Passyunk bar and restaurant. Now, he’s announced his plans for the next 10: expanding upstairs at 1537 South 11th Street with a new concept.

The Arbor Room — named after Styer’s Arbor Inn, the Reading, Pa. restaurant run by the chef’s great-grandfather and grandfather — will feature a “loungy, cool vibe” and a seafood-forward menu, with raw bar and a cocktail bar offering a wide selection of rums. As with Fond, he said, the menu will feature “flavors we like to play with,” including Spanish, Caribbean, Southeast Asian, and Mediterranean profiles.

The Arbor Room’s opening is about a year out. Styer also owns the Dutch in Pennsport.
