Urban Outfitters Is Closing Amis Early

You've got just two more days to say goodbye to the Vetri-founded restaurant.

Last month, we told you that Amis, the Marc Vetri-founded, Roman-inspired bar and restaurant, would be closing at the end of summer. Well, something changed, because you’ve only got a few more days to grab one last bowl of that bucatini.

Amis will cease operation after service this Sunday, June 23rd, according to an Urban Outfitters rep — not August 30th, as was announced back in May. The retailer purchased all of the Vetri Family restaurants but Vetri Cucina back in 2015.

Though we don’t know the official reason for the date change, staffing may be the issue — it’s hard to keep workers around when they know they’ll soon be out of a job.

No word yet on what might be planned for the space at 412 South 13th Street, where the restaurant operated for nearly 10 years. The two Amis spinoff locations — one in Devon and one in Westport, Connecticut — will remain open, as will the Navy Yard’s Bar Amis.
