Tim Lanza and Andrew Kochan's new Walnut Street spot quietly debuted over the weekend.

TALK, Tim Lanza and Andrew Kochan’s long-awaited downtown concept, opened over the weekend at 2121 Walnut Street.

The structure of their debut menu is the opposite of the prix-fixe-only Marigold Kitchen in University City, which the duo took over back in 2014. Rather, Lanza and Kochan are sticking with a set menu format — small and large plates plus a selection of sweets, all built around seasonal flavor combinations accented with unique ingredients (fermented almond, gooseberry, huitlacoche, tonka bean).

Drinks-wise, they’ve got a slate of intriguing cocktails like the electric-purple Heavenly Blues (made with gin, Luxardo Maraschino cherries, lemon, house-made creme de violette and shaved ice), a short but solid list of domestic and international wines, and craft beers. They’ll be adding happy hour and brunch service soon, too.

TALK is open from 4 p.m. till 12 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Check out the full menu here and make reservations here.
