On Sunday October 23rd, Slow Food–the global, grassroots organization that links the pleasure of food with commitment to the community and environment–will pay a visit to Alla Spina. The event is a walk-around tasting featuring food grown and produced by local farms and food artisans. It will include food cooked by Vetri chefs and beverages from producers who use sustainable, biodynamic, or organic production methods.

So who’s going to be there offering up samples? So glad you asked.

Contributing local producers include Dads Hat (who’ll be bringing their booze, of course), Greensgrow Farms, Albet I Noya Winery, Valley Milkhouse Cheese, Livengood Family Farm, Montinore Winery, Wyebrook Farm (showing off their meats and their new partnership with Nick Macri of La Divisa), 1732 Meats, Tröegs Independent Brewing, The Philadelphia Orchard Project, Two Rivers Brewing, Press Gang Ginger Beer, Deer Creek Malthouse, Ciu Ciu Winery and Springwood Organic Farm.

So if slow food and local producers are your thing, you should add this one to your calendar. And if you love talking about food with the people who produce it, all the better because many of the farmers and producers are going to be there for the event.
