Dirty Frank’s mural of Franks, Franklins, Francises and Frankensteins is getting an addition. Just in time for the Papal visit, Pope Francis is having his likeness added to the mural of the popular dive bar at 13th and Pine.
The mural was created by Philadelphia artist David McShane back in 2001 and includes the likes of Franklin Roosevelt, Aretha Franklin, Frank Edwin “Tug” McGraw and a host of other famous Franks. McShane is back updating the mural today.
It isn’t the only time McShane has been in the news recently, the artist recently completed the Philadelphia Phillies mural at 24th and Walnut.
