From The Tip Line: Garces At The Granary?

The Granary, over at 19th and Callowhill, has already got a couple of heavyweight restaurant tenants. First, there’s Pizzeria Vetri, for those craving Italian. And second, it’s got an outpost of Gyu-Kaku–the Japanese BBQ restaurant with the decidedly Korean angle (in-table grills, bibimbap and kimchi on the menu). But according to some information we’re getting from tenants living at the Granary, it looks like there’s soon going to be a third big name in the building: Jose Garces.

We don’t have much in the way of details, but apparently residents have been getting emails from the property management company announcing that Garces is shortly going to be beginning construction in one of the remaining restaurant/retail spaces. There’s no new liquor licenses pending in the PLCB database, so maybe a new, smaller Garces Trading Co. outlet? One of his coffee-and-juice bar things? Or possibly another mini-Rosa-Blanca (without the booze)?

You’ll know more when we know more. And this also seems like an excellent opportunity to remind everyone that if you’ve got a restaurant tip, we have a place for it. Just email it to tips@foobooz.com.
