Celebrating National Oyster Day With An Oyster House Oyster Dinner

Yes, every single day of the year is National Something Day. Today, for example, is National Cheese Sacrifice Purchase Day (just trust me, it has something to do with mousetraps), which falls during National Baked Beans, Hot Dog AND Ice Cream Month.

But Tuesday, August 5 is National Oyster Day. And the Oyster House is celebrating it with a 4-course oyster feast courtesy of chef Brett Naylor. It’s a one-night-only kind of thing (and happens to fall within the whole Rittenhouse Row Culinary Collective four-night event), and will run you $50 per person after 5pm.

Naylor’s menu will include oysters on the half shell, grilled oysters bagna cauda, fried oysters with grits, black-eyed peas, bacon and Tabasco, and an oyster pan roast with blackened shrimp butter that sounds more than a little bit awesome. Reservations for the dinner are highly suggested and big groups are welcome. Call the Oyster House at 215-567-7683 to make your arrangements.
