Taco Bell Offshoot to Debut Philly Cheesesteak-Inspired Taco

Say it ain’t so.

Word comes from the Left Coast that Taco Bell is launching a new fast-casual restaurant concept this summer. It’s called U.S. Taco Company & Urban Taproom. And here is one of their flagship offerings: the Brotherly Love taco.

This “Philly cheesesteak-inspired” abomination has nothing to do with a cheesesteak, of course. The contents include carne asada slices, grilled peppers and onions, cotija cheese, roasted poblano queso and cilantro.

Sounds a whole lot less deadly than the Taco Bell Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos, but still, we’ll pass.

No word on whether the Brotherly Love taco will be making its way to Philly by the end of 2014, aka the Year of the Cheesesteak. Yum Brands, the company that owns Taco Bell (and KFC), plans to test the concept out this summer in California.
