DeSean Jackson Sustains Ankle Injury

Add another name to the growing Eagles injury report.

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson suffered an ankle injury after colliding with safeties Jaiquawn Jarrett and Kurt Coleman during Friday’s practice on an errant throw from Michael Vick. He had his left ankle wrapped and briefly returned to action, but did not finish practice. According to an Eagles spokesman, there doesn’t appear to be any need for an MRI and he should be back in a day or so.

Fletcher Cox did not practice on Friday. He was excused for personal reasons.

There were plenty of injured Eagles players working off on the side. Todd Herremans (shoulder), Trent Cole (A.C. joint), Jamar Chaney (hamstring), Jason Babin (calf), Nate Allen (hamstring) and O.J. Atogwe (groin) all went through light conditioning away from the rest of their teammates. Not amongst the active injured was Brent Celek (knee), who continues to be sidelined after a very brief appearance here at camp.

Evan Mathis is reportedly dealing with vertigo and did not participate in Friday’s session.
