Pottstown Company Providing Massive LED Screens for Pope Visit

Upstage Video has a big assignment ahead of them.

Pope Francis‘ visit to Philadelphia is a big business opportunity for many — perhaps none more than Upstage Video. The Pottstown, Pa. based company won the bid to set up 30 10-foot-by-17-foot LED screens for the World Meeting of Families event and Papal Mass. Now it’s screens and technical capability will be on display for all the world to see. (No pressure!)

The Pottstown Mercury caught up with the folks at Upstage Video recently, reporting that the 22-person staff has been preparing for months. The staff will begin setting up 11 days before the event even starts. (Don’t worry, the screens are weather proof.)

“This particular event is historic. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity,” General Manager Geza Divenyi told the Mercury. “It’s more of a global reach, when you’re talking about the pope.”
